Analysis of Kerrang
Kerrang! is a weekly rock magzine published by Bauer Consumer Media. It has been getting published every week since June 1981. The title is actually an onomatopoeic word which relates to the sound a power chord on an electric guitar.
This magazine is priced at £2.20 which is slightly cheaper than NME but it offers around the same amount of content of the same genre. This is a very good price as it means that it is competiting with NME and on terms of price, Kerrang! is winning.
I feel that Kerrang! is mainly aimed towards the same people as NME which is C1,C2,D and E class people. Purely because of the genre that the magzine is.

Analysis of NME
NME or New Musical Express is a music magzine that has been published weekly since March 1952. It is owned by IPC Media. Above, you can see the cover that I will be analysing.
The magazine is priced at £2.30 which, in my opinion, is a very reasonable price for the amount of content you get within the magazine. The magazine usually attracts 16-24 year olds who enjoy the rock/punk genre of music.
From looking at this front cover I assume that this magazine is aimed primarily towards C1,C2,D and E class people. This mostly consists of working class and students which are generally the people that will be attracted to buying this magazine.

Second Magazine Attempt
This is my second attempt at making a magazine cover. As you can see it is not complete and it is a completely different style to my first attempt. Although I haven't finished this cover I am quite happy with it because I can see it taking shape and I can see where I am going to put all my main cover line and my other cover lines. However, I'm still not sure what genre I would take but I do feel that I want to do the Electronic House Magazine as it will be easier for me to create it mainly due to the fact that I enjoy this genre of music as well so it should come naturally to me to create that sort of style.

Magazine Attempt 1
This is my mock-up of my magazine cover. I done it on Photoshop and it took me around an hour to do. I used a picture of the producer 'Deadmau5' who is an Electronic House DJ. I downloaded several fonts from a website that supplies them for personal use to make the Title and the Coverlines. I also downloaded some custom brushes to create the background which matches the colour scheme of the magazine and the colour of Deadmau5 himself.

Preliminary Task
Above, is my front cover for my School Magazine. In my opinion, it isn't really that good quality and it doesn't really look that professional. However, I feel strangely proud of it as it is quite formal and seems like a decent piece of work considering I haven't had much time to work on it. I especially like the school badge in the top left as it overlaps other layers at sticks out quite a lot. I also quite like the colour scheme as it matches the schools colours and separates to page quite well. I have also done a contents page for my prelinary task but Blogger doesn't want to upload that for some reason so I'll hopefully be able to upload it later or the next time I come on here. Oxfam Advert
A couple weeks ago I made an Oxfam advert for fairtrade food. I used some simple Photoshop techniques to create my finished advert. I don't think it is very good as I rushed it and I didn't really give it much effort as it was only a practise exercise before we started out front covers.

Lesson Three (is the magic number)
In lesson three, we began making a front cover for a nature magazine. I decided to call it Autumn's Blossom because I thought that it sounded like a legit magazine name and that it could of actually been a real name.

Lesson Two (Can be as bad as one)
In our second lesson of the project we had a photoshop tutorial to teach us the basics of photoshop. Most of the class benefited from it at some level but I already had a good knowledge of it because I used it a lot in my Art GCSE.

Lesson One (is the loneliest number)
On Friday, we had a first lesson using Blogger.
I don't really know much about the site but I hope to gain experience and knowledge in using Blogger.

My name is Joshua Arnold and Windows 7 was my idea.
